Why I Believe Beautiful Lips Should Still Look Like Yours

“I want my lips to look beautiful… I just don’t want them to look obvious.”
That sentence perfectly sums up my philosophy.
I don’t believe everyone should have the same lips.
I don’t believe bigger automatically means better.
And I certainly don’t believe that beautiful results should ever make you look like somebody else.
My job isn’t to create fashionable lips.
My job is to create your perfect lips.
After years of treating patients, I’ve realised that the best compliment someone can receive after lip filler isn’t, “Your lips look amazing.”
It’s:
“You look so fresh.”
“Have you changed your makeup?”
“There’s something different about you, but I can’t work out what it is.”
That’s because truly beautiful lip enhancement should blend seamlessly with the rest of your face.
Nobody should notice your filler.
They should notice your confidence.
What Is Lip Filler?
Lip filler is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that uses hyaluronic acid to improve the appearance of your lips.
Most people think lip filler is simply about adding volume.
In reality, volume is only one small part of what I do.
When I assess a patient, I’m looking at much more than their lips. I’m analysing facial proportions, profile, symmetry, smile, lip movement, and even how light naturally reflects across the lips.
Because lips don’t exist in isolation.
They are one feature within the harmony of your entire face.
Sometimes my patients don’t actually need bigger lips at all.
Instead, they may benefit from:
- Better definition around the lip border.
- Improved hydration.
- Restoring volume lost through ageing.
- Correcting a natural asymmetry.
- Improving the Cupid’s Bow.
- Enhancing projection.
- Softening the previous filler that has migrated.
This is why I prefer to describe my work as Lip Design, rather than simply lip filler.
Every treatment begins with a personalised design plan.
Lip Design, Not Just Lip Filler
One of the biggest mistakes I see within aesthetic medicine is treating every patient exactly the same.
Beauty doesn’t work like that.
Your lips should match your own facial proportions not someone else’s.
Social media has encouraged many people to believe that there is one perfect lip shape.
There isn’t.
The lips that look stunning on one face can look completely unnatural on another.
That’s why I spend so much time planning before treatment begins.
When someone comes to see me, I ask questions like:
- What do you love about your lips already?
- What bothers you?
- Have your lips changed with age?
- Are you looking for hydration, definition, or volume?
- Do you want people to notice your lips, or simply notice that you look refreshed?
These conversations help me understand not only your anatomy, but your expectations.
Sometimes patients arrive asking for one full syringe because that’s what they’ve seen online.
After examining their lips, I may recommend much less.
Natural results often come from restraint rather than excess.
I firmly believe that adding the right amount is far more important than adding the maximum amount.
For me, aesthetics has never been about changing faces.
It’s about enhancing confidence while preserving individuality.
Lip Treatments I Offer at Vasilica Manchester Aesthetics
Every patient is different, which is why I offer several treatment options depending on your anatomy, previous treatments, and desired outcome.
Natural Lip Augmentation
This is my most requested treatment.
Natural Lip Augmentation is designed for patients who want soft, elegant enhancement without looking overfilled.
The goal isn’t dramatic volume.
Instead, I focus on restoring balance, improving hydration, defining the borders of the lips, and creating a naturally fuller appearance that suits your facial features.
Many first-time patients are surprised by how subtly beautiful lip filler can actually be.
Russian Lips
Russian Lips has become one of the most talked-about lip techniques in recent years.
Although many people request it by name, it isn’t suitable for everyone.
This technique focuses on increasing vertical height and creating a beautifully defined Cupid’s Bow while maintaining a relatively flat side profile.
When used appropriately, it can produce elegant, sophisticated results.
However, I only recommend this technique when it complements your natural anatomy.
Choosing a treatment simply because it’s trending is never the right approach.
Cannula Lip Filler
For suitable patients, I may recommend using a cannula instead of a traditional needle.
A cannula is a blunt-tipped instrument that allows filler to be placed with fewer entry points.
Depending on the individual case, this technique may reduce bruising, swelling and tissue trauma while still achieving beautiful, natural-looking results.
During your consultation, I’ll explain whether this approach is the best option for you.
Lip Filler Dissolving
Unfortunately, not every patient comes to me for their first lip filler treatment.
Some have experienced migration.
Others feel their lips have become overfilled over time.
Sometimes, the most beautiful result begins by removing previous filler.
Using hyaluronidase, I can safely dissolve unwanted hyaluronic acid filler before creating a completely fresh treatment plan based on your current anatomy.
Starting again often produces a far more balanced and natural outcome.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that most patients don’t walk into my clinic worrying about the injections.
They’re worrying about the result.
